AMIDOPROPYL BETAINES

The current Australian Poisons Standard places this cosmetic or personal-care use in Schedule 6.

Conditions: AMIDOPROPYL BETAINES except: (a) in cosmetic wash-off preparations containing 30% or less of amidopropyl betaines and, if containing more than 5% of amidopropyl betaines when labelled with a warning to the following effect: IF IN EYES WASH OUT IMMEDIATELY WITH WATER; or (b) in cosmetic leave-on preparations containing 1.5% or less of amidopropyl betaines; or (c) in other preparations containing 30% or less of amidopropyl betaines and, if containing more than 5% of amidopropyl betaines, when labelled with warnings to the following effect: (i) IF IN EYES WASH OUT IMMEDIATELY WITH WATER; and (ii) IF SKIN OR HAIR CONTACT OCCURS, REMOVE CONTAMINATED CLOTHING AND FLUSH SKIN AND HAIR WITH RUNNING WATER.
