Your formulas are not submitted to the server. Exact names are compared after case and whitespace normalization; synonyms and spelling variants are not treated as the same ingredient.

Interpretation limit:
This is a textual comparison, not a safety or regulatory assessment. Different names may describe related materials, and a matching name can still have a different supplier, grade or concentration. Screen either formula in the INCI Checker and verify current official sources.
How the formula comparison works
1. Normalize
Case, repeated spaces, common dash characters and list bullets are normalized. Duplicate names within one formula count once.
2. Compare
The tool builds the union and intersection of both unique name sets. Similarity is the shared count divided by the union count.
3. Review order
Shared ingredients are compared in their original sequence so you can spot a changed relative order. This does not reveal undisclosed percentages.
