Found in RNA, it base pairs with adenine and replaces thymine during DNA transcription. It has a role as a prodrug, an allergen, a mouse metabolite, a Saccharomyces cerevisiae metabolite, an Escherichia coli metabolite, a human metabolite and a Daphnia magna metabolite.
