- Toxicity Summary: IDENTIFICATION AND USE: 2-Methylaminoethanol is a viscous liquid. It is used in the manufacture of textile chemicals, pharmaceuticals. HUMAN EXPOSURE AND TOXICITY: Prolonged hematuria, pathologic liver function tests, and multiple skin warts described in a patient after 2-methylaminoethanol exposure. ANIMAL STUDIES: In rats it was irritating to the skin, eyes, and mucous membranes. 2-Methylaminoethanol (150 ppm) was not maternally toxic or embryotoxic in rats.
